I was taking a look through my older stuff and I was staring at my horrible attempt at coloring skin a year or so ago on this picture here: [link]

I wanted to see if I've improved at all since then and I'd like to think I have. I was taking the image and converting it to B&W while I was working on it to check my values and make sure they were strong and I think that helped a lot. I also really like using textures on the background. This one's some crumpled paper and I like the organic feel it gives it. Hopefully I've done Felicia justice this time!

Got rid of the paper texture in the background and smoothed out the colors and cleaned it up a bit more. You can see the before and after here:
